Zhuangzi Project Opening Day

On 26–27 October 2019, the experimental-art public-benefit project 「Zhuangzi Project」 initiated by Mu Yuming held its first Opening Day at the old courthouse of Bajie, Anning, Yunnan. The judicial building, abandoned for more than ten years, was transformed by artists, monks and volunteers into an art centre. The painting exhibition 《Shanshui》, the performance art 《Human Clock》, documentary screenings, a shared mural and graffiti, Russian baking, vegetarian food from Sanhe Temple — a hundred people gathered together, breaking bread, laughing and creating. A place of punishment became a place of laughter; the Bauhaus and Black Mountain College spirit was reborn in the East.
