Zhuangzi Project Year One Review

6 of 14

Project Story

One year of the Zhuangzi Project, initiated by the conceptual artist Mu Yuming. Its origin: in 2013, a short monastic ordination in Myanmar — a charity sale to help orphans of northern Burma. In 2018, on the invitation of the Bajie town office, the team moved into the old courthouse; in 2019, the Opening Day brought a hundred people together, fusing Eastern and Western art with shared creation. Adjacent to Sanhe Temple, daily meditation, mind-storming, going up the mountain to find soil. In 2020 the pandemic ended government cooperation; the artist moved on to new project methods, from a fixed base toward a mobile vehicle, exploring humanity's future ways of life.
