Project Story
The Zhuangzi Project is a public art experiment initiated by the conceptual artist Mu Yuming, rooted in the ancient town of Bajie in Anning, Yunnan, with its headquarters in the renovated old courthouse, adjacent to Sanhe Temple. The project comprises two main sections — Zhuangzi Academy and Zhuangzi Cultural Creative: the Academy breaks the boundary between teachers and students, who decide their own curriculum and graduation; the Cultural Creative section covers the international exchange centre and the art museum, advancing traditional folk art and contemporary art. Open, in development, exploring humanity's future ways of life.
