Picture Story

Pa Pae Meditation Centre volunteer — Minha, Thailand.

Mu: Where are you from? Why did you come here?

Minha: My name is Minha, from Thailand. About four years ago, I came here for the first time. I loved it. After that I came back twice a year. This year, after paying off my student loan, I decided to quit my job and come here as a volunteer.

Mu: Do you meditate here too?

Minha: I meditate every day, because I love meditation.

Mu: After taking part in this artwork, how do you feel? Has anything changed? The work itself, and the experience of writing on it.

Minha: Yes — well, I think it has to do with the kinds of feelings you are supposed to avoid. Honestly, during the day I do not have so many of these feelings. The only one that comes up a little more is anger — because work is hectic, I sometimes lose myself and get irritable, though even that is not very often.
